Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of mental health professionals are available here?
At PrimeCARE, we have Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) who provide counseling and support. While we do not have psychiatrists or psychologists on staff, our licensed counselors are trained to help with a wide range of mental health concerns.
How do I know if I should seek help for a mental health issue?
It’s a good idea to seek help if you’re experiencing feelings like persistent sadness, anxiety, overwhelming stress, changes in sleep or appetite, difficulty concentrating, or if daily activities feel harder than usual. You don’t have to wait until things feel severe—reaching out early can make a big difference. If you’re unsure, our team at PrimeCARE is here to listen and guide you toward the support you need.
How do I schedule an appointment for mental health services?
Simply give us a call to let us know you’re interested in seeing one of our counselors. We’ll create an in-house referral and collect your insurance information. Then, we’ll contact your insurance provider to verify your behavioral health benefits and get back to you with the details. Once you’re ready to proceed, we’ll schedule your appointment with a counselor at a convenient time.
How long does mental health treatment typically last?
The length of mental health treatment varies based on individual needs and goals. Many clients begin with weekly sessions, each lasting approximately 60 minutes. The total duration of treatment depends on factors such as the nature and severity of the concerns, the specific therapeutic approach, and personal process. It’s common for treatment to last several months, with the possibility of adjusting the frequency or length of sessions as you make progress toward your goals.
